Do I Need a Permit?
Why do I need authorization to build or perform demolition?
A building permit, conditional use, or variation order are essential for several reasons. When you obtain one, you are agreeing to comply with zoning laws and construction ordinances. This ensures safety for everyone involved, protects your financial asset (the house), and maintains resale value. Plus, it is a legal requirement in most cases. So, think of it as a safeguard for your project!
NOTE: All farm buildings, except residences and garages, do not require a building permit but must have a development permit.
