Tanner’s Cross Planning District
Tanner’s Crossing Planning District’s (TCPD) area of responsibility is the Town of Minnedosa and the Rural Municipalities of Minto-Odanah and Clanwilliam-Erickson. TCPD is governed by a five-member Board of Directors, consisting of three councillors from the Town of Minnedosa, and two councillors from R.M. of Minto-Odanah. TCPD has two employees: the Building Official/Development Officer/Fire Inspector, and a parttime Administrative Assistant.
What We Do
TCPD regulates all building in Minnedosa and the RM of Minto-Odanah and is responsible for building inspections, fire safety inspections, permits (building, move-in, development, plumbing, demolition, etc.), planning (conditional uses, variation orders, rezoning, development plan amendments) and zoning memorandums.
TCPD is responsible for building inspections only for the Municipality of Clanwilliam-Erickson.
TCPD is also responsible for conducting fire inspections and enforcing fire codes and safety regulations within the town of Minnedosa and RM of Minto-Odanah.
TCPD conducts routine inspections of buildings, checking fire protection systems, emergency exits, and other fire safety features. We also evaluate the premises for fire hazards such as blocked exits, flammable materials, and electrical issues. If violations or deficiencies are found a written report will be provided with recommendations for corrective actions and work with building owners or occupants to ensure compliance.
